Sabalcore hosts the popular FDS software as part of our High Performance Computing Cloud. Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS)is a computational fluid dynamics software package for modeling building and wildland. FDS is a block structured Cartesian LES code for low-speed flow which uses a high-order cutcell-immersed boundary method for complex geometry and is specifically tuned for thermal transport and fire dynamics. FDS is able to scale to hundreds of processor cores. Sabalcore provides the high-performance computing platform to run FDS simulations and visualizations.

It’s easy for PyroSim users to run their simulations. You can actively control, monitor, and access all the output files of your simulation in real-time using our built-inremote desktopcapability, similar to running FDS through Pyrosim on your desktop or workstation. You can also run Smokeview and visualize the the simulation the same way you do using PyroSim.
Develop your model using PyroSim.
Export the model’s .fds file in PryoSim: File –> Export –> FDS File..
Copy the FDS file to a directory in your Sabalcore account: Plugins –> SCP File Transfer and copy the file to the directory
Select the FDS Launcher, open the FDS file, select the CPU settings for the job, and click “Launch”
Monitor the progress of the job, visualize the model using Smokeview as the job is processing. You have access to all files during the simulation.
